Sunday 08-13-17
Attended worship services at the Connell United Methodist Church in Goodlettsville, TN. The congregation was very kind, friendly, and accepting. The service was very moving and the pastor delivered a very thought-provoking sermon on prayer.
Took a backstage tour of the Grand Old Opry House at Opryland.

Monday 08-14-17
We had planned to leave today but there is so much to do here in Nashville; things we had not had a chance to do yet so we extended for site for a couple of days. Today we rode the truck into Nashville, parked in a lot neat the Ryman and went sight-seeing on foot. Visited the Ryman again to photograph the outdoor sculptures. Went to the famous Tootsie’s Orchid Lounge for lunch and a drink. Heard some really good musicians. Visited the Johnny Cash museum and walked around a lot.

Tuesday 08-15-17
Today we went back into Nashville and took the hop-on / hop-off to the Parthenon in Centennial Park. The statue of Athena on the second floor is a must see. We then went back to the Country Music Hall of Fame to finish the tour we started last Friday with the Grey Line Tour. We listen to country music on Sirius Radio a good deal of the time and it was nice to see so many artifacts and learn so much history about the artists we hear all the time.
Came back to the trailer and prepared to leave in the morning.

Wednesday 08-16-17
Finished prep and got under way this morning. Still have about 850 miles till home so we have plans to stop somewhere in Georgia for the night.

Thursday 08-17-17
Made it from Nashville, TN to Perry, GA before we stopped for the night at the Fair Harbor Campground. Everyone was very nice considering it was only a one night stay. Clean restrooms and pizza delivery. Who could ask for more?

Friday 08-18-17
Well, our summer odyssey is over for this year. Made it back to New Port Richey around 3 PM today. Tired and lonesome for the road but glad to be back in our own bed. Time to start planning for next year!!!!

Attended worship services at the Cornerstone United Methodist Church in O’Fallon, MO. Also drove around the area scouting for any areas to photograph.

Monday 08-07-17
Spent the day visiting with our son’s family and playing with the grandchildren.

Tuesday 08-08-17
Spent the day visiting with our son’s family and playing with the grandchildren. Had to take the Truck in to have fuses replaced due to the issue trying to inflate the coach tires.

Wednesday 08-09-17
Today was Mary Lou’s birthday and our son’s significant other prepared a scrumptious meal (she is a professionally trained chef) and a beautiful cake. Lots of presents a good time was had by all. Went back to the coach rather late and prepared for getting underway tomorrow morning. Have decided to visit Nashville for a few days to celebrate ML’s birthday.

Thursday 08-10-17
Traveled from O’Fallon, MO to Nashville, TN. Long trip and I was tired by the time we pulled in to the Grand Ole RV Resort and Campground on 31W. Set the coach up and had a bite to eat in the little restaurant on site. Arranged to join a Grey Line Tour of Nashville in the AM.

Friday 08-11-17
Took the Grey Line Bus Tour called “Discovering Nashville”. This was a good tour giving us a basic idea of the layout and where things are actually located in the Downtown area.
Tonight we cruised the Cumberland River aboard the General Jackson Riverboat. Not as good as I thought it would be on the boat. I had to use flash and I rarely like my flash photography. However, the cruise took us up to Nashville and the city lights proved to be quite interesting. I especially like the lights on the walking bridge. The lights presented interesting compositions as we passed below the bridge. Because it was not totally dark I believe some of the images will be too noisy to use but I have high hopes for the bridge shots.

Saturday 08-12-17
Spent the day in the Opry mills area. We found a great gem for photo opportunities. It is the Gaylord Opryland Hotel. There are three atriums within the hotel lobby. These atriums have exotic plants, waterfalls, ornamental iron work, etc. There is currently an Alice In Wonderland themed art show being presented throughout the Atriums and the formal gardens that has very interesting colorful flowers of various shapes and sizes and beautiful topiaries. If you are in the Nashville area I would highly recommend you spending some time here. I believe you will be presented with some excellent photo opportunities.
Tonight we attended a performance of the Grand Ole Opry. I really like taking photos at live events. They simply come out great. I think I am going to print some of these up and try to sell them.
